Research on new diagnostics, biomarkers and the combination of them in new diagnostic tools for easy and reliable determination of biomarkers are  highly profiled, strategic research areas at all the organizing universities. It is also a strong focus of the research performed at SciLifeLab, co-organizer of this AIMday. The research activities include work in the disciplines of new molecular tools for DNA and protein analysis, finding and validation of biomarkers in areas such as cancer and bacteriology, imaging diagnostics, biobanks etc.
