AIMday Infection & AMR

A date in Spring 2017 will shortly be confirmed for AIMday Infection & AMR.

Join leading researchers from The University of Edinburgh at AIMday® Infection & AMR  to jointly generate innovative ideas around topics such as antibiotic and antimicrobial resistance, diagnosis of infection, as well as the treatment and prevention of infections.

The rise of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the treatment of infections represents a significant challenge for global health today.  The need for faster and simpler methods of diagnosis and more targeted treatments is paramount and efforts in this vital area of research are being supported by governments worldwide.  AIMday Infection & AMR aims to kick start innovation by bringing together the academic community and businesses engaged in this area, to tackle the specific challenges being faced by companies today.

Academic Industry Meeting day, or AIMday, is built around individual company workshops. Questions posed by each company prior to the event are communicated to academics across The University of Edinburgh who self-select the questions most applicable to their research.  The questions are then discussed in a one hour workshop on the day with the aim of identifying possible pathways to a solution.

The workshop blends a range of academic disciplines together for a short period of time which can spark innovative and creative solutions to commercial problems.

One question, one hour, a group of academic experts – the AIMday format is unique.
