Welcome to AIMday® Minerals 2017 !!

Welcome to AIMday® Minerals 2017, jointly hosted by the University of Saskatchewan (UofS) and the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII), in collaboration with the University of Regina and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

This is the first AIMday® being organized in North America. We look forward to welcoming companies, organizations and academic researchers to this event on March 22, 2017, to discuss specific industry challenges in the Minerals sector.

Academic Industry Meeting day, or AIMday®, is centered around workshops whereby company questions are submitted around a central theme which are then discussed by academics from across the University disciplines.

  • Each question or challenge submitted by a company is tackled by a group of academics, with the aim of finding a pathway to a solution.
  • One question, one hour, a group of academic experts – the AIMday® format is unique.
  • Register your attendance at the event by submitting a question on the registration page.

The Minerals Sector

The minerals sector is critical to the Saskatchewan economy with production valued at more than $8.5 billion in 2015. Saskatchewan is the world’s largest potash producer and a top supplier of uranium, and these industries create demand for both knowledge-based products and services and highly educated people. Today the sector is focused on its sustainability and looking to do so through innovation. Greater collaboration between the sector, its suppliers and the province’s research community is key to its future success.
