Welcome

We look forward to welcoming companies, organisations and academic researchers to this event on 27th January 2016, to discuss specific industry challenges in Risk & Resilience.

In a world full of uncertainty, it is becoming increasingly important for people, organisations and networks to be able to understand, measure and manage the risks that they are exposed to. For many organisations, this is about minimising their exposure to risks that could damage them in some way, or rethinking how they do things in order to become more resilient to uncertainty in the prevailing conditions.

The University of Edinburgh can offer a range of unique expertise that can help organisations to optimise their approach to risk and resilience.

How AIMday works:

Academic Industry Meeting day, or AIMday, is centred around workshops whereby companies submit questions within the event topic.  Academics from across the University with knowledge on how to address the specific challenges presented by the companies can self-select those questions most of interest to them.  Then, on the day, the academics attend a one hour workshop face to face with the company to discuss possible pathways to a solution.

The workshop blends a range of academic disciplines together for a short period of time which can spark innovative and creative solutions to commercial problems.

Company registration has now closed

Academic registration will remain open until Wednesday 23rd December.

One question, one hour, a group of academic experts – the AIMday format is unique.

Register your attendance at the event by submitting a question on the registration page.

Should you have any questions in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact the AIMday team by emailing crm@ed.ac.uk
