The AIMday Concept
The AIMday concept is to match questions from industry (and public sector organisations) with relevant research competence within the academic institution. For one hour at a time, individual questions become the subject for discussion in small, multi-disciplinary groups.
AIMday brings together a broad, interdisciplinary mix of people that can provide different perspectives and new avenues to solving problems – in an environment that creates favourable conditions for continued cooperation between industry and academia. The concept is best described as a structured process for matching questions from business with relevant and broad academic skills.
An AIMday event consists of several one-hour workshops, where exchange of knowledge on submitted questions from a company/organisation occurs in an open fashion.
Transparency is the basis for meetings within the AIMday concept. Discussions are open and frank.
The questions and the names of the organisations involved is public information that is accessible to all.
Although the core of AIMday workshops is comprised of concrete issues and questions, the goal for academic researchers is not to deliver a solution on the day. Rather than question-and-answer sessions, the meetings should be the starting point for developing partnerships that will address the challenges set and develop potential solutions.
Participation in AIMday is about opening up to new knowledge, perspectives, ideas and contacts for all participating parties.
