Welcome to AIMday Bio-Solutions Online Workshops
Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, the University of Edinburgh will be hosting AIMday Bio-Solutions using online workshops taking place w/c 15 June 2020.
AIMday™ (Academic Industry Meeting day) is based on workshops where challenges submitted by participating companies around a central theme are discussed with academics from relevant university disciplines.
Advances in research and technology are increasing the speed, scale and precision of our ability to robustly and predictably modify biological systems for new and useful applications such as: supply chain replacement and enhancement using biomaterials, bioremediation, or recovery of rare elements.
Using engineering principles to redesign living systems, we can achieve transformative improvements across many industries.
Submit at least one challenge in the form of a question to gain access to expertise across the University’s full range of specialisms including bioinformatics, synthetic and systems biology, and biomaterials to name but a few.
Participating companies at AIMday Bio-Solutions can meet teams of researchers with practical experience across disciplines to explore and address the specific challenges each company faces.
Each challenge submitted by a company will be tackled in an online workshop with a group of multi-disciplinary academics with the aim of finding pathways to solutions.
One question, one hour, a group of academic experts: that is the AIMday format!
Register your attendance at AIMday Bio-Solutions by submitting your question(s) on the registration page before Monday 20 April 2020.
We are happy to help you come up with or phrase appropriate question(s), so please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at Edinburgh.Innovations@ed.ac.uk.
