Important questions posed by both industry and academic partners in the maritime and last mile cluster include:

• Can the application of artificial intelligence be applied with confidence for automated navigation and hazard avoidance in marine autonomy?
• How can we employ data analytics and machine learning to provide effective tools for the optimization of freight operations across a complex, multi-modal transport environment?
• How do we ensure digitalization delivers seamless export and import across customs boundaries?
